".
I am sure that we are not all business people, nor will all our children be business people, but it is important that we understand how businesses operates. We believe – and when I say ‘we’, I also mean Member States, because there is strong consensus on the set of key competences, which include entrepreneurial initiative – that it is about an ability to understand the complexity, an ability to take initiatives, to turn initiative into action and take up personal responsibility.
This is also good for employees, not only for employers: employees who are active and creative are good employees for any serious company. That is why we believe that such ability is very helpful for the whole of society and individuals and that it is not just about propagation and production of businesses and business people. It is about a mentality which should also be more mature in a changing environment, in an environment which requires a deeper understanding of influences and dynamism."@en1
