"Question No 39 by Hélène Goudin ()
In its answer to my written question concerning Plan-D (), the Commission states that it will listen to the views of citizens and draw conclusions therefrom. The Commission also stresses that it does not intend to predefine which individuals will be able to act as 'European goodwill ambassadors'. In the light of this information, will the Commission provide specific answers to the following two questions?
If citizens mainly put forward views to the effect that EU cooperation should be restricted and that further integration is not desirable, will the Commission then act in line with those wishes, that is, will it recommend a more intergovernmental approach?
How are the individuals who are to act as 'European goodwill ambassadors' to be selected? Must a person or organisation propose suitable 'goodwill ambassadors' or can any well-known individual officially act in this capacity regardless of his/her political views?"@en1
