Indeed, we deplore violence against both sexes being perpetrated by both sexes, or by anyone against anyone. We also believe that women must be protected from violent acts and those responsible for such acts should face the full force of the law. However, we have abstained on this report as it is a missed opportunity to address a serious problem.
