I should like to congratulate Mr Mauro on his important and timely report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council determining the general rules for the granting of Community financial aid in the field of the trans-European transport networks and energy and amending Council Regulation (EC) No 2236/95, which I wholeheartedly support. I especially welcome the establishment of provisions promoting the investment required for the Lisbon goals to be achieved. Europe must invest in transport and energy infrastructure. Nevertheless, when minimum financing rates for this proposal are determined, the financial perspective for 2007-2013 must be taken into account."@en1
