"Mr President, last week the European Court of Justice made a ruling that British prisoners should have the right to vote in elections. This followed an appeal by a British prisoner that his human rights were being violated by the English law that prevents prisoners from voting. The European Court of Justice is of course not a court of justice. Its purpose is to ensure that the political will of the European Union is enforced in Member States. This particular piece of idiocy is a direct consequence of the Labour Government’s decision in 1998 to incorporate the European Convention on Human Rights into English law. If enforced, this verdict means that Ian Huntley, the Soham murderer; Ian Brady, the moors murderer: Robert Black, the child killer; and every paedophile and criminal in British prisons will have a say in what kind of government we elect. This ruling clearly demonstrates why Britain should regain control of its own affairs."@en1
