The proposal for a Council decision concerns the conclusion by the European Community of the Agreement on the Conservation of African-Eurasian Migratory Water-birds signed by the Community on 1 September 1997, in force since 1 November 1999. It is one of Conservative of Migratory Species of Wild Animals. It protects 235 species of birds which are ecologically dependent on wetlands in particular in Africa and Eurasia. It requires coordinated measures for achieving and maintaining a favourable conservation status for migratory water-bird species using African-Eurasian flyways."@en1
