"I believe that Sweden should participate in Economic and Monetary Union and I share the rapporteur’s positive attitude to the euro. I have, however, chosen to abstain from voting on this report. One of the main conclusions of the report is that the Commission should conduct an information campaign extolling the virtues of the euro. I believe that information campaigns by the Commission are neither helpful nor appropriate if we want to see more people well disposed towards the euro. That is not what we should be using taxpayers’ money for."@en1
