We are opposed to this development. In our opinion, Uzbekistan is not in the neighbourhood of the EU. We believe that, in this particular case, other organisations – such as the UN, the OSCE and the Council of Europe – have a mandate to engage in conflict prevention and to strengthen human rights. We therefore support the call initiated by the UN with the support of, for example, the OSCE for the situation in Uzbekistan to be the subject of an independent investigation."@en1
