"The June List believes that a one-year extension to the five-year programme for enterprise and entrepreneurship is undesirable. The programme does not have the cross-border character required if one is to believe that the principle of subsidiarity has been respected. It should be the Member States’ responsibility to, if they so wish, facilitate small and medium-sized enterprises’ access to funding and venture capital, as well as to assist them with information about EU legislation, European standards and cooperation partners. It is very important that small businesses around Europe be able to feel their way to different solutions in accordance with the principle of institutional competition. In order not to incur the costs of an extended programme, we are voting against the report."@en1
