"I want to reinforce the points just made by my colleague. As an MEP I receive many letters from concerned constituents who have been defrauded by people operating in other Member States of the European Union, particularly through fraud through fax machines, sending false contracts and falsely announcing prize-draw winners. A lot of these are based in Luxembourg, which will hold the next presidency of the EU. Frankly it brings the EU into disrepute when we are told that there is nothing that can be done about this situation. If citizens are to gain any advantage from EU cooperation, it should be precisely in tackling these sorts of problems."@en1
