".
Mr President, the adoption of the regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on cooperation between national authorities responsible for the enforcement of consumer protection laws – the so-called Regulation on Consumer Protection Cooperation – does not, as such, have any bearing on law enforcement cooperation between Member States. Member States' police and judicial authorities are already actively cooperating in the fight against all types of crime. The Council has adopted various instruments on cross-border cooperation in the fight against crime, notably in the context of mutual recognition and enforcement. These instruments, in principle, have a general scope and are not limited to specific types of crime."@en1
