Like Turkey, Russia is a country which is only partly European and will never join the EU, but it is an extremely important partner. However, precisely because it is an important partner, we must steadfastly oppose the systematic dismantling of democracy and the rule of law in Russia and the continuing genocide against the Chechen people in a colonial war.
