The deadline is 1 March, which is when the term expires. If we publish it now, the competition procedure will be quite short. I hope that at the beginning of next year we will have enough time to consult with the relevant parliamentary committee and the Council about proposed candidates. We will try to select candidates as soon as possible and then start the consultation with Parliament. The Commission has no intention of reducing Parliament's role in this very sensitive matter."@en1
