"Mr President, as you said, we must not drop our guard when it comes to the issue of human rights. During the last sitting, we adopted a resolution on the problem of human rights in Iran. Since then, the situation has continued to deteriorate. I wish to draw your attention to the fact that people are still being arrested, including human rights activists Doctor Mabobeh Abbasgholizadeh and Mrs Fereshteh Qâzi. This is an unacceptable situation and I feel that you must ask the President-in-Office of the Council to enlist the support of our Ambassadors in Tehran to help ensure that human rights are respected. We may have concluded an agreement on nuclear energy, but we must not turn a blind eye to what is happening in Iran on a daily basis."@en1
