This report addresses the sensitive question of immigration, integration and employment. The text raises important issues, such as migratory flows, improving the integration of immigrants and the need for cooperation with countries of origin. These are crucial issues for the employment markets and for economic growth in all the Member States.
This report might have won our vote, were it not for the adoption of a large number of amendments tabled by the Confederal Group of the European United Left/Nordic Green Left, which added little to the substance of the report and turned it into a left-wing document and not a compromise acceptable to the whole of Parliament. I therefore voted against."@en1
