"Mr President, I wish to make a point of order, an appeal to the Bureau, to the President, concerning an incident that has been drawn to my attention. As everyone knows, the French postal services have set up a temporary office here during the Strasbourg part-sessions and something extremely unpleasant happened at the end of the December part-session. A postbag containing registered post, special delivery parcels, etc, in particular two cassettes containing programmes recorded for Portuguese national television, on debates in our Parliament and various topical issues, was overlooked. These tapes would have been forgotten about had it not been for the efforts of a Portuguese journalist, responsible for these programmes, who insisted that they be found and after a considerable delay, they finally arrived in Portugal and could be shown. Such incidents harm the image of our Parliament, and also damage the coverage given to our activities. I would therefore ask you, Mr President, to take steps to ensure that these incidents do not happen again. In the perennial debates on the Strasbourg part-sessions, I have always voted to continue working here in Strasbourg, but this type of incident clearly does not help."@en1
