"Mr President, I would not normally do this at the start of business, but since it has now been confirmed that the death of the policeman in Manchester was the act of a terrorist, could I ask you, as President, to write to the family of Stephen Oake and to the Greater Manchester Police expressing our sincere regret and our absolute abhorrence of this act, because it is linked to terrorism. It is not a normal policeman's death in the course of his duty. It is an issue which concerns all of us in this House in every country. I am sure the gesture would be appreciated by the officer's family and the people of the Greater Manchester area and the United Kingdom."@en1
