"Mr President, I have, of course, voted in favour of this resolution, but I cannot agree with the way you treated Mr Schnellhardt when he told you that his machine was not working. He would have voted against the resolution and the majority was achieved by only one vote: 223 to 224. If Mr Schnellhardt’s machine had worked – he has told you that this is not the case – the amendment would have been rejected. I believe that you should take account of the fact that a machine does not work, especially if the Member informs you straightaway. It is actually extremely important for us when an amendment is adopted or rejected by a single vote. I believe I am within my rights, Mr President to tell you that I do not agree with the way you have handled this matter."@en1
