He would have voted against the resolution and the majority was achieved by only one vote: 223 to 224. If Mr Schnellhardt’s machine had worked – he has told you that this is not the case – the amendment would have been rejected. I believe that you should take account of the fact that a machine does not work, especially if the Member informs you straightaway. It is actually extremely important for us when an amendment is adopted or rejected by a single vote.
