"It was evident from where I sit that it was the same majority. Secondly, the result has been announced. After a result has been announced, we will not go back on it. Mr President, on a point of order, I would like to support Mr Howitt. He was right to ask for a roll call vote or a check, because originally there was supposed to be a roll call vote. Many more Members raised their hands on the amount than on the reference to political organisations. Mr Howitt was right to ask for a check because, under the Rules of Procedure, any Member has that right, even if the President presumes that the vote went in a particular way. Mr President, I would ask you to please respect that right in future, because, had there been a check, the vote – we think – would have gone the other way. Mrs McKenna, with all due respect there is no need to make a meal out of this. If a Member wants a check, he should ask for one. The request for the roll call vote you refer to was withdrawn. In general, when Members ask for a check, they get it. However, during voting time, requests for points of order are usually refused. That is the procedure and it was followed. ***"@en1
