Four years after the adoption of the EU code of conduct on arms exports, it was time for the European Parliament to demonstrate to the Member States their will to make the common criteria for arms exports binding. I am delighted that amendments to this effect have been adopted. Following the example of the Belgian Government, all the Member States should introduce the provisions of the European Union’s code of conduct on arms exports into their national legislation."@en1
