By making it easier to prosecute people for racist offences, religious and racist intolerance could be significantly diminished. Indeed, by increasing the scope of what constitutes racist behaviour, to include actions that may be deemed threatening, abusive or insulting, this resolution represents a consolidation of the principles of freedom and human rights, principles upon which the EU and its Member States are founded."@en1
