The Council has undertaken to provide a reply on Friday. Given the importance of this report, it would therefore be wisest to refer it back to the committee. This would allow for further reflection, taking account of the Council’s response, with a view to reaching the best possible solution. I urge Mrs Morgan to request that the report be referred back to the committee. I have already tried to convince her of the need for this. The PPE-DE Group will not give way on this point.
