"Mr President, Mr Mayol i Raynal’s report concerns the labour cost index; it is extremely important that this is standardised throughout Europe. This important regulation divides the labour cost index into four categories. Article 4 of the regulation stipulates that employers’ social contributions and taxes paid by employers should be indicated as a single total. No, Mr President! The Pensioners’ Party is opposed to this labour cost index. Taxes are one thing and pension contributions are another. We need to know how much a worker’s pension affects labour costs and how much they are affected by taxes. If we do not distinguish between the two we will never resolve the issue of pensions."@en1
