"Madam President, I also voted for Mrs Kaufmann’s report on European governance, which, on page 12, last line, item 21, calls for the explanations of vote of the members of the European Council, when they vote on their decisions, to be published, as these explanations of vote are currently not published. I am pleased to point out that, in contrast, the European Parliament not only provides for this and permits it but makes a point of allowing the Members themselves to express their explanations of vote. Since I am one of these Members, I agree that the reasons why the European Ministers voted one way or the other should be made known in the European Council too."@en1
