They voted unanimously for the six amendments that allow this report to go beyond the Commission’s proposal, which only sought to unfreeze land for organic farmers and primarily to remain within the context of the COM agreements. The whole of Parliament wanted to go further and send a positive signal to breeders generally and also, at least initially, to farmers doing environmental work. I venture to hope, on behalf of my group, and no doubt on behalf of many others, that the Council will understand and follow our lead in the matter."@en1
