"Once again, the European Parliament finds itself dealing with Eurodac, i.e. the system intended to prevent multiple asylum applications. It will always be essential for a system of this kind to be subject to democratic control. Accordingly, it is incomprehensible as to why the Council should want to alter the procedure in such a way that will deprive Parliament of all its information rights. That being the case, we support Mr Pirker’s report. However, I would point out that this courtesy does not extend to the committee’s proposal to raise the age limit."@en1
