". – I will answer with pleasure. As a matter of fact, we are both talking about the same thing, which is the United Nations Special Meeting of the General Assembly on Children's Rights in September 2001 next year. Since we are talking about that my approach is that we should have a study to evaluate how the United Nations Convention on Children's Rights has been implemented in our Member States. This study should be completed in time to be used as basis for the Union's participation in the United Nations Special General Assembly next year.
I am sure that we can count on the support of the incoming Swedish Presidency in the first six months of next year. It has already made it clear, that it will be making children's rights a top priority. So I think I have explained what action we propose to take and when we propose to take it."@en1
