This being the case, I had a request from the Group of the Party of European Socialists to bring forward the Council and Commission statements on the Turkish situation, which are currently scheduled for Wednesday 12 April. Their proposal was to enter these items on the agenda instead of the statement on Iraq. Let me turn now to Mr Hänsch. You wish to amend this request, and to have a statement on the Ethiopian famine instead of the statement on Iraq – and, if I have understood correctly, this latter request is supported by Mr van Velzen, on behalf of the PPE Group – and to leave the debate on Turkey as originally scheduled.
