I would point out that the alternative project ATT3 – and I would like to thank Commissioner Kinnock and the chairman, Mr Coleman, for their efforts here – has been examined closely and in great detail by the Commission over the past two years, and I have also received a written report on this. I would just like to add that the question from Mr Messner goes like this: “in the event that a new installation is to be built, the project that is the most and least environmentally friendly is to be examined”. It is completely beyond me as to why anyone should ask the Commission to make sure that something is as harmful to the environment as it possibly could be. This is all about people living in a sensitive area who must be protected. The fact that this request came from the Greens makes it all the more baffling, and it should be thrown out for this reason."@en1
