".
To drastically reduce the emissions of greenhouse gases in the rich countries is a duty of solidarity towards future generations, but also towards the peoples of the developing countries who will suffer more and more from natural disasters caused by global warming.
The Kyoto protocol sets targets in this respect which are still very limited. Only radical public interventions will allow the environment to be protected. In each country, action must be taken without waiting for hypothetical international agreements. The question of road transport offers an example of this. It also demonstrates the need not to limit this issue to a national level and to develop a battle strategy on a European scale."@en1
