"A Uachtaráin, vótáil mé agus mo ghrúpa leis na leasuithe go léir anseo agus dar ndóigh leis an tuarascáil féin, rud atá eisceachtúil. Ach ní nach ionadh mar is tuarascáil maith é. The REFIT programme especially is a very good one, and I strongly welcome the Commission’s move towards a better regulation agenda led by Vice-President Timmermans. I especially welcome the emphasis on SMEs and how they can sometimes be hindered by excessive bureaucracy. SMEs are the drivers of employment and economic growth in the European Union. This time in particular we must do everything we can to ensure that all small businesses can prosper and create more and more jobs. Bad or excessive regulation is one of the main barriers to entry for small businesses. Incumbent market players can deal with this, but SMEs cannot, and for that reason I welcome the opportunities to have better regulation, removing excessive red tape, which will allow market access for SMEs. This will drive innovation, growth and lower consumer prices."@en1
