"Parliament adopted Mr Paulsen’s report by a very large majority. This report follows on from the Commission’s presentation of the European Union Strategy for the Protection and Welfare of Animals 2012-2015. It stresses that current legislation should be better implemented by the Member States. It authorises the Commission to intervene before the deadline for implementation to ensure the full implementation of the legislation. It also calls for more importance to be accorded to the link between animal health, animal welfare and public health. I voted in favour of this report in plenary."@en1
