"The mandate is the second stage of the budgetary procedure for the European Parliament. Mr La Via’s report outlines the main priorities and concerns of Parliament for the trilogue on the budget due to take place on 9 July 2012. This report strongly calls for an adequate level of budgetary resources to be made available for the years to come, particularly for policies to create growth and jobs. My fellow MEPs and I are calling most particularly for resources to be targeted at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and young people. This report was adopted in Parliament in plenary by a large majority and I welcome this."@en1
