lpv:translated text	"The decisions that were reached at the European Council came indeed at a very crucial moment. However, in addition to that, I would like to suggest paying more attention to the e-governance of the Member States as well as the EU. The mode in which citizens communicate with their respective countries or the supranational institutions is, in many countries, still very archaic. It is high time to step into the 21st century and adapt to modern technologies. E-governance is cheap, transparent, decreases bureaucracy and corruption and is convenient and user-friendly for the citizens. I am confident that it complements the austerity measures, while having also a positive impact on societies and governments. Estonia is a good example. After introducing e-governance, the corruption has decreased significantly – the rate is one of the lowest in the EU. We have managed to cut down the number of public servants to optimum and the citizens are not referred from one office with a typewriter to another. Let us put an ‘e’ to Europe!"@en1
