"Many of the report’s objectives in terms of sustainable integration, social protection and increased gender equality are worth striving for. However, these issues are best dealt with at lower levels of decision-making, rather than at EU level.
With a view to controlling the EU’s growing zeal for centralisation and regulation, the EU’s tasks need to be clearly demarcated and its budget kept within bounds. In the light of this, we cannot support the proposal to allocate EUR 336.2 billion to the European Social Fund between 2007 and 2013."@en1
