"The situation in Syria has escalated to an ongoing massacre, with numerous civilian casualties and a serious shortage of food and medical supplies in areas such as Aleppo. Six years of conflict and extreme violence in Syria have led to the deaths of more than 400 000 people, with more than 13 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.
Our group has requested a new resolution that would reflect a more comprehensive picture of the situation and recent developments, and work toward the aim of a ceasefire and a potential peace deal. I support the need for a new resolution, as the European Union through its role as a meditator should bring all major parties back to the negotiating table and lead the focus to the humanitarian aspect of the conflict."@ro2
