"Mr President, I would like to thank the Ombudsman very much for the remarkable work she does. Ombudsman, given your relentless, persistent efforts in making all the EU institutions more accountable, I would like to ask you to investigate, in cooperation with Parliament’s Bureau and the European Anti-Fraud Office, the conduct of Mr Farage MEP in the past days. On 9 November, during committee week, Mr Farage flew on vacation to the United States, stating on camera that he was just a tourist. At the same time, he stated on a popular radio show that he was hoping to be offered a new job by President-Elect Trump. Just two days ago, Trump proposed that Mr Farage should become UK Ambassador to the United States. Whether it was a tourist visit, a job application tour or just a photo opportunity, please investigate whether Mr Farage’s private trip to the US was actually paid for by European taxpayers, or whether he received any parliamentary allowances during his absence from the European Parliament."@es2
