lpv:spoken text	"Mr President, I strongly support this report, which underlines the importance of the development of social safety nets. I would like to underline the importance of achieving sustainable development goal 2, which aims to end hunger and malnutrition by 2030, notably by increasing the productivity of smallholders’ farms, and achieving sustainable and climate resilient agriculture and food systems. Currently 159 million children are stunted and 50 million are affected by wasting. Malnutrition has a tremendous impact on their development and health and fuels the cycle of poverty. The level of investment remains inadequate. The Commission Nutrition Action Plan pledged to reduce stunting by 7 million children by 2025 and should honour its commitments, ensuring it addresses all forms of under-nutrition while also filling the huge current funding gap for nutrition—specific interventions."@ro2
