lpv:spoken text	"The review of the Postal Services Directive has provided the opportunity to examine the current state of the postal services market, with a view to protect the rights of consumers while adopting the use of new technological developments. Given the fact that postal services are a fundamental right for all EU citizens, but also taking into account the decline in letter volume over the past few years, the report has aimed to provide, first of all, a definition of universal service. An improved postal services system would contribute to the social cohesion and economic growth of the Union, and would facilitate coordination between national regulatory authorities. The report also calls for improved transparency as regards public pricing conditions and asks for transparency checks where prices are not controlled by competition."@ro2
