"The proposed regulation aims to establish a dedicated European travel document for the return of third-country nationals subject to a return decision. This regulation provides for a uniform format and enhanced technical and security features, with the aim of ensuring wider acceptance of the document by third countries and increasing its use for readmissions. Some 60% of returns cannot be facilitated because the country of origin refuses to accept the person in question back into their country because of a lack of documents or the non-recognition of documents.
There should be a guarantee that returns are carried out in a humane manner, ensuring the safe return and the safety of the returnees, and that fundamental rights are fully respected. I therefore support this regulation, which ensures all of the above."@ro2
