"Every year the European Parliament sends recommendations to the Council for the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly. These recommendations are sent based on the three pillars of the United Nations, which are peace and security, human rights and development. This year`s amendments to the draft recommendations concern issues closely connected to the realities of today’s world, such as LGBTI rights, women’s representation at all levels of the decision-making process, zero tolerance for death penalty, and children`s rights. I support these amendments, as they address issues that are of great concern for myself and the Alliance of Socialists & Democrats."@ro2
