"The EU has set up legislative and budgetary instruments to provide additional support to workers who are suffering from the consequences of major structural changes in world trade patterns or of the global financial and economic crisis and to assist their reintegration into the labour market. I welcome the green light for the mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGAF) in Belgium, which will cover the 488 redundancies of the enterprise Hainaut Machinery operating in the economic sector during the reference period 25 December 2014 to 25 September 2015.
The EGAF funding of EUR 1 824 041 shall contribute to the costs of a coordinated package of eligible personalised services, providing assistance for 488 targeted beneficiaries following redundancies in three enterprises operating in the Hainaut region in the construction machinery sector, as well, as for 300 targeted young persons not in employment, education or training (NEETs) under the age of 25, with the aim of providing assistance for integrating the affected persons into the labour market. The redundancies were caused by major structural changes in world trade patterns due to globalisation. This is the sixth mobilisation of the EGAF in 2016."@ro2
