"The Treaty of Lisbon clearly says that 26 countries have obligations and commitments to the euro. Nineteen have fulfilled them, seven are on their way to doing so – and we have made this differentiation that they have to do that – and only two countries have opt-outs and opt-ins. We have kept the stability of the development of the euro; it is agreed that the eurozone can be deepened, and it is agreed that everyone here has the same right and a level playing field. But it was also agreed that these seven countries will have all the advantages of future member countries of the eurozone. We have also said that there is no multi-currency union; the euro is the currency of the European Union. That is the result, and it is accepted."@de2
