"As my colleague, – and, I believe, friend – Mr Hadjigeorgiou notes full well, I take great pleasure in looking in great detail at all these particular matters. This has not been a debate this evening but a one-sided criticism of northern Cyprus and indeed the Turkish position. If we want to make any progress on unifying the island – as I am sure we all want to – then the only solution, as we know, is a solution that respects the interests and concerns of both communities on the island. That goes right back to the point that I made about what happened in 2004. We have just got to get over it and we have got to speak in more generous and sympathetic terms to understand the Turkish Cypriot position."@en1
