"In favour. I fully support the overall concept of the regulation on the mutual recognition of protection measures, but consider it imperative to further address the issue of victims of gender-based violence. To this end, I back the report’s approach of making a reference to provisions in the proposal for a Directive on Victims’ Rights. In order to better provide for the needs of victims of gender-based violence, officials likely to come into contact with cases where a person’s physical, psychological and sexual integrity is considered to be at risk – particularly cases of violence against women – should be appropriately trained. The work of civil society, particularly NGOs, women’s associations and other voluntary organisations providing specialist support is recognised by the rapporteurs, and Member States are encouraged to support the work of, and collaborate with, such organisations in providing support to victims of violence, and particularly female victims."@es2
