"I voted in favour of this report. Animals are and should be regarded as our fellow living beings. They should be viewed with compassion and with a sense of solidarity wherever it is possible with the goal of causing least suffering. As for me, I oppose slaughtering practices as well as keeping most animals in concentration camp conditions. The least one can do at this moment is to reduce their stress and panic during transportation to slaughterhouses.
The current proposal does not offer concrete limitations on transportation schedules, and therefore it is highly desirable that more concrete proposals be advanced in future. However, this is not the solution for the universal problem of human treatment of animals."@et1
