"I voted in favour of this report, which addresses crucial problems that seriously hinder the completion of the digital single market.
1. The Commission has to map the obstacles that currently hinder cross-border service delivery and provide answers as to how to fix these problems. VAT standardisation would help to overcome differences between tax systems. The building of trust between customers and businesses is urgently needed. Origin and delivery addresses are still facing discriminatory practices which involve breaking single market rules in the digital sphere.
2. Strong financial incentives need to be made available for innovative SMEs that develop new generation businesses, e-skills and the like. When deciding upon MFF, the digital market sphere has to be seen as an integral part of Europe’s future.
3. Ultra-fast broadband connections should become available and accessible across Europe in the shortest possible time, especially to enable SMEs to develop their businesses, but also to boost the EU’s global competitiveness."@et1
