In this case, an employee – who happened to be the union leader of the police force – broke the rules. Zijn meerdere - in casu de minister van Binnenlandse Zaken - heeft daarom sancties toegepast die in overeenstemming zijn met de Slowaakse wet en met de ministeriële rechten en verplichtingen om handelend op te treden teneinde een destabilisatie van het land te voorkomen. Ik ben zeer trots op de dingen die Slowakije in de afgelopen zeven jaar onder minister-president Mikuláš Dzurinda heeft bereikt, zoals een sterke democratie, meer transparantie en de tenuitvoerlegging van hervormingen, die ertoe geleid heeft dat wij nu uitgegroeid zijn tot een Europese economische tijger. Er is uiteraard nog ruimte voor verbetering, maar er is gewoonweg geen probleem op het gebied waar het hier om draait. Ik zou mijn geachte collega’s dan ook vriendelijk willen verzoeken om tegen een wijziging van de agenda van dit Parlement te stemmen.
